How Do You<\/span> Reset Your YouTube Recommendations?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

YouTube <\/span>isn\u2019t<\/span> like TikTok, where you can easily reset the algorithm and start seeing new recommendations. Instead, you\u2019ll have to work your way through quite a few steps<\/strong> to:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Reset YouTube Recommendations on Mobile and Desktop<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

    To reset your recommendations on mobile, follow the steps below.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Step #1:<\/strong> Open the YouTube app<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

    Step #2:<\/strong> Tap your profile picture<\/b> on the bottom-right side of the interface.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Removing all of your likes and comments will further reset your recommendations by clearing out any interactions you\u2019ve had with videos.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Note:<\/strong> On desktop, you\u2019ll tap your profile picture and instead of clicking the gear, tap the hamburger icon on the left side of the screen. You can then navigate to History<\/strong> and tap Clear all watch history<\/strong> or tap the \u201cX<\/strong>\u201d next to the video you want to remove from your history.<\/div><\/div>\n

    • <\/i> Tap Saving your YouTube history<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • <\/i> Look for the Turn Off<\/strong> button and tap it.<\/li>\n

      You can also have YouTube delete your history automatically. Follow the first four steps above.         YouTube\u2019s recommendation algorithm looks at multiple metrics to learn the type of content that will keep you on the app. Time spent on certain videos, likes, comments and subscribes helps send YouTube signals that this is the type of content you prefer.<\/span><\/p>\n
