Check out three ways to \u201cmerge,\u201d or consolidate, your accounts on Instagram.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Ask Your Followers on One Account to Follow You on the Other<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The easiest way to \u201cmerge\u201d your accounts is to select one that you want to make your primary profile. Then, create posts on all your other accounts that ask all your followers to follow you on the main one.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you\u2019ve given them plenty of time to follow you \u2013 at least a week \u2013 you can delete your old accounts. This would leave you with only one profile to manage from now on.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are some obvious pros and cons to this method. On the one hand, it enables you to focus solely on the account that is getting the most follows and the most traffic. On the other hand, you run the risk that not all your followers on your other accounts will transfer over. It\u2019s up to you to decide if you want to take that risk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pro Tip:<\/strong> Save a list of your followers on your other Instagram accounts. Then, send them a message from your primary one inviting them to follow you there. You can also use a third-party app to handle this cumbersome transfer process for you. But by doing so, you risk compromising your Instagram login information. In the end, it\u2019s safer to handle it yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Swap<\/span> Usernames on Your Accounts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This last method<\/strong> is a little tricky, but it may help you if you want to <\/span>attract followers<\/span> from a secondary Instagram account to a primary account.<\/span><\/p>\n

First<\/strong>, log into your secondary account on Instagram and go to <\/span>Settings and Privacy<\/b>. Tap <\/span>Account Center<\/b>, and then tap <\/span>Profiles<\/b>. After that, tap your secondary profile<\/strong> and then, on the next<\/strong> screen, select <\/span>Username<\/b>. The last step is to change your username to something generic or simple that you don\u2019t plan on using anywhere else.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next<\/strong>, log into your primary account and follow the same steps to edit your username. Only when you change it, change it to your secondary account\u2019s old username. (It should still be available if you\u2019re quick!)<\/span><\/p>\n

By the end of this process<\/strong>, your primary account should reflect the old username of your secondary account.<\/span><\/p>\n

The idea behind this method is that, from now on, whenever one of your followers on your secondary account searches for the old username, they\u2019ll find your primary account and follow you there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep in mind that this method doesn\u2019t actually merge your profiles, followers, or content. All it does is swap usernames. That\u2019s it! And you may not even want to do it if you don\u2019t like the username on your secondary account. This lets you keep all your followers and content across your accounts (although they will still, for all intents and purposes, remain separate).<\/span><\/p>\n
