You\u2019re definitely going to hit one of the algorithm\u2019s internal limits<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<p><strong>You\u2019ll read a lot of different figures when looking up limits because they seem to be different for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> New accounts<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> Aged accounts<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s see some of the limits that you may hit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>1. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Posting<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We&#8217;ve heard, and we cannot verify it without a lot of work, that you can post an <\/span><b>unlimited<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> number of posts in a day on Instagram. Some sources state that the daily limit for posts is <\/span><b>1,000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram has not confirmed either of these figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, if you <a href=\"https:\/\/viralyft.com\/blog\/how-often-should-you-post-on-instagram\">post normally<\/a>, you should be fine. Even 20 posts per day is a lot yet still very far off from the internal limits.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<p><strong><em>How many posts should you be posting?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>2 \u2013 4<\/strong> Reels a week<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>2 photos<\/strong> a week<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>1 carousel<\/strong> a week<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>2. \u201c<span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Like<\/span>\u201d Limits\ud83d\udc4d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLikes\u201d have two hard limits that you may hit, especially if you\u2019re just scrolling through your phone:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>120 likes<\/strong> per hour<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>700 \u2013 1,000 limits<\/strong> per day<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to be on the safe side, don\u2019t like hundreds of photos or comments at a time. You&#8217;ll want to use Instagram naturally, and then you never have to worry about limits. If so, you\u2019ll be upset to know that there are <strong>two main limits:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> Total follow limits (more on that below)<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> Daily limits<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram will limit your ability to follow people to <\/span><b>200 per day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>4. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Unfollow<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfollowing people, especially bots or ghost followers, is a common practice. You want to keep your engagement high, but you also have to adhere to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/viralyft.com\/blog\/instagram-community-guidelines\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram\u2019s guidelines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You\u2019ll be limited to:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>180 \u2013 200<\/strong> unfollows per day<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>60<\/strong> unfollows per hour <\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram has these limits to prevent people from unfollowing all of an account\u2019s followers. <strong>For example,<\/strong> if your friend has access to your account, being able to delete more than 60 people per hour limits the damage of them unfollowing everyone you follow.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>5. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Comments<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>If you hit the comment limit, you\u2019ll be met with a message that states, \u201cComment blocked.\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recommend not trying to comment again for a few hours or a day to see if the block has been lifted.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#e5ddce;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#fff7e8;border-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<p><strong>Limits are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> 30 per hour<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> 200 per day<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll find that the number of comments you can make will vary. Some users do seem to have higher limits, but we\u2019ve seen influencers mention that they were blocked from commenting back to people on their own posts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram will also limit your comments if you copy and paste comments on too many posts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>6. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">DM<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We have very in-depth posts on <a href=\"https:\/\/viralyft.com\/blog\/instagram-dm-limit\">DM limits<\/a>, and it\u2019s something we recommend everyone read<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You can be banned if you abuse the system, so be sure to brush up on the rules.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#e5ddce;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#fff7e8;border-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<p><strong>However, we\u2019ve found two main DM limits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>100 \u2013 200<\/strong> per day for aged accounts<div class=\"su-spacer\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> <strong>30 \u2013 50<\/strong> DMs per day for new accounts<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We were shocked to see these low DM limits, which explains why more celebrities are not DMing random fans back \u2013 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they can\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>7. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Stories<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stories are a great way to engage with your followers and keep them updated on what\u2019s going on in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most experts recommend posting at least two Stories per day. But don\u2019t go overboard. Why? Because Instagram only allows you to post:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> 100 Stories per day<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While your account is unlikely to be banned for any of the reasons above, you do want to avoid automation at all costs<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. App users who have spam \u201cliked\u201d or \u201cfollowed\u201d or \u201cunfollowed\u201d people have been banned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram aims to provide a safe environment for all users, and you need to avoid spamming to keep the platform safe and spam-free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that you know some of the limits in place, let\u2019s look at some of the other, lesser-known restrictions.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<h2><strong>Instagram Limits <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">You Didn\u2019t Know Existed<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with the daily limits listed above, Instagram also has other restrictions that you didn\u2019t know existed. <\/span>These are hard limits, meaning that they don\u2019t refresh every day.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> For example,<\/strong> you can only have a certain number of characters in your bio, and this limit never changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some other restrictions that you should know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>1. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Age<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many Instagram users don\u2019t realize that the platform has a minimum age requirement for creating an account.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#e5ddce;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#fff7e8;border-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;\"><div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<p><strong>To open an account, you have to be at least:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-chevron-right\" style=\"color:#5339D3\"><\/i> 13 years old<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>In some areas,<\/strong> like Spain, South Korea and Quebec, the age limit is higher. If you sign up for a new account, Instagram will now ask you to provide your age.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"sue-panel\" data-url=\"\" data-target=\"self\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:14px;-moz-border-radius:14px;-webkit-border-radius:14px;box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-moz-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 3px 5px #eeeeee;border:1px solid #5339D3\"><div class=\"sue-panel-content su-u-trim\" style=\"padding:15px;text-align:left\">\n<h3><strong>2. <span style=\"color: #5339d3;\">Link<\/span> Limits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram allows you to add links to your bio.
